my first CAKE!!


Guess who made this? It's ME n my sis!!  lol We used up the entire afternoon to make it. It's a 2-layered chocolate ice-cream cakeI admit that it's kinda ugly..XD But this is my first time to bake a cake, so ... yeah. Actually there's no one's birthday... We put the 'happy birthday' just for FUN! :D

Ingredients :
250g sponge cake mix flour
450g eggs, 3 egg yolks
100g melted butter
1.5 litres strawberry ice-cream

For garnishing :
whipped fresh cream
toasted almond nibs
strawberries, sugar flowers

Method :
1. Sponge cake : Beat flour, eggs, egg yolks at high speed for 10 minutes. Add in melted butter and mix well.     Pour into a 8'' round cake pan (lined with greaseproof paper).
    Bake at 180*C for 20 minutes till cooked.
2. Cut cake into 2 slices horizontally, each slice about 1.5cm thick.
3. Blend ice-cream into a food processor till smooth (but not melt), pour onto one of the pieces of cake.
4. Then cover the ice-cream with another piece of cake and trim well.
5. Revert the cake all over with fresh cream, garnish with almonds nibs, strawberry and sugar flowers.
6. Chill into fridge for 1 hour. Serve cold.
